Using real options methods for improving the effectiveness of investment activity of motor transport enterprises

The article substantiates the relevance of the theoretical and methodological development of concerning the application of real options method to determine the value of investment projects in order to improve investment motor companies.

Object of the study – investment projects of motor transport enterprises.

Purpose of the study – to justify the use of real options method in the evaluation of projects to improve investment of motor transport enterprises.

Research methods – dialectical, logical methods.

Traditional methods of evaluation of projects are widely using for justification of investment projects, both dynamic and static. These methods ignore the management flexibility that allows the manager to change the course of the project in the modification of the environment. Attempts to use modern methods of investment evaluation are actual in a dynamic changing environment.

Real (managerial) options - contracts that give the holder the right to buy (sell) at a fixed price of real assets at a certain time or for a certain period of time.

Real options are classified according to term of level of complexity of the project. Type of real options is chosen depending on the specifics of the project. The main investments of motor transport enterprises are real investments to expand, modernization and reconstruction of production. There are different types of real options that can be included in the project, depending on the purpose of real investment, namely options: scale, denial, delay, exchange.

The cost of real options that are included in the project may be taken into account in justifying the value of the investment decision. To assess the value of real options possible is the use of methods: the Black-Scholes method; binomial method (model Cox-Ross-Rubinstein) method of differential equations; Datar-Mathews method (DMM); method of simulation; method using fuzzy logic. The most common of these is the Black-Scholes method and the binomial method.

The main advantages, disadvantages and practical recommendations on the use of real options for investment decisions are determined.

The real options are describing the availability manager of choice that allows you to make decisions affecting the efficiency of the project and protect against uncertainties of future developments.

The results of the article can be used for improving the quality of investment activity of the enterprise in an unstable environment.

Methodological support of the assessment of the effectiveness of transport infrastructure projects implemented on the principles of public-private partnership

The article analyzes critically the methods of assessing the effectiveness of transport infrastructure projects on the basis of public-private partnership, used in domestic and foreign practice.

The object of the study is transport infrastructure projects, the implementation of which is assumed on the principles of public-private partnership.

The purpose of the work is to study and critically analyze domestic and foreign methods of assessing the effectiveness of transport infrastructure projects that are expected to be implemented on the basis of PPP, development of proposals for improving the national regulatory framework.

Critical analysis of the Methods of conducting the analysis of the effectiveness of public-private partnership implementation in Ukraine was conducted and similar methodological approaches applied in foreign practice were studied. The shortcomings of the domestic methodology have been clarified, and the need to take into account not only financial but also non-financial factors that at each stage of the life cycle of the project will enhance its value for society. The composition and strength of the impact of non-financial factors differs at different stages of the life cycle of the project. Proposals aimed at improving the current regulatory framework for assessing the effectiveness of transport infrastructure projects on the basis of public-private partnership are formulated.

Assumptions for the development of the object of research - a study of the composition and strength of the influence of non-financial factors affecting the effectiveness of the public-private partnership project at various stages of its life cycle.

Systematization of indicators of estimation of organizational structures of carriers of motor transport in the context of the implementation of a balanced system of indicators

The article describes indicators of evaluation of organizational structures of carriers of motor transport. The approach to systematization of the indicators of the performance of organizational structures that carry out the carriage of goods by motor transport as indicators of evaluation of the implementation of corporate strategies in the context of the implementation of the concept of a balanced system of indicators are proposed.

Object of study − carriers of motor transport and evaluation indicators.

Purpose of study − to propose an approach to systematization of indicators of evaluation of the organizational structures that carry out the carriage of goods by motor transport, as indicators of evaluation of the implementation of corporate strategies in the context of the implementation of the concept of a balanced system of indicators.

Methods of study − method of analogies and comparisons, analysis and synthesis.

The results of the article can be used by enterprises-carriers of motor transport to systematize indicators of evaluation of the work of structural units of the enterprise.

Foreseeable assumptions about the development of the research object are the analysis of scientific literature and other sources of information, including corporate ones, concerning the development of databases of indicators that can be used to evaluate their work.

A survey of the existing approaches in western and domestic scientific literature to the definition of such category in economy as state-private partnership (SPP) is suggested in the article.

Public-private partnerships as a new form of business development attract the attention of representatives of the scientific community and the general public. Public-private partnership implies the organizational and institutional unification of the state and private business with the aim of implementing socially important plans on the scale of the whole state or individual territories. However, the content of this concept has not yet been firmly established.

Corruption is one of the most urgent problems in all spheres of human life today. Being on the path of building a democratic state with socially-market economy, Ukraine can’t ignore this phenomenon, which takes place in the Ukrainian society. The high level of corruption in Ukraine, which declared its management, domestic and foreign analysts, international institutions, motivates more to explore effective mechanisms for its liquidation and use them on practice. Successful problem solving fighting corruption is a priority of the state and since Ukraine declared European choice it became particularly actually to conform the declared goals and everyday reality. Despite the slow pace of the fight against corruption in Ukraine this process has demonstrated some progress and the first results.

Forecasted assumptions about the object of the study – the mechanism improvement of reducing corruption in the country and the application of good foreign practices of fighting corruption.

Evaluation of competitiveness on the example of catering enterprises

The article is devoted to the research of the assessment of the competitiveness of nutrition facilities in terms of the emerging consumer demand in the market of services.

The object of the research is the process of assessing the competitiveness of the enterprise in the field of nutrition.

The purpose of the article is to assess the competitiveness of nutrition institutions in order to identify the weaknesses of the enterprise, improve its market position and create a positive image.

Competition among public catering establishments is very high, so each company is trying to find and offer its customers particular advantages and take their niche in this area. Some food establishments do it better, some worse – it is precisely for this purpose that the assessment of the competitiveness of the enterprise is aimed at.

The article describes the classification of principles and methods for assessing competitiveness. Since nutrition facilities have their own peculiarities of providing services, the research of the competitiveness of nutrition facilities has been carried out in terms of the value of the service and the degree of satisfaction of needs, and as an expert method has been chosen as a method of assessing competitiveness. The assessment was made on the example of ten fast food establishments (fast foods) offering their services in Kyiv. The constructed scale of the level of competitiveness of the enterprise made it possible to determine the level of competitiveness and to determine the directions of improvement of the work of the catering establishments.

Scientific methodological approaches to managing the balanced development of international transport corridors logistics systems

The article deals with the international transport corridors balance assessment. The analysis of international ratings of economic processes has been conducted. It was revealed that the proportion of objective indicators is gradually increasing in the structure of these ratings. Special attention has been devoted to analyzing the international logistics performance index statistical data, particularly to the indicators of members' countries of the Pan-European International Transport Corridor ¹ 9.

The research objects are logistics systems of international transport corridors.

The research objective is to develop a mechanism for assessing the balance of international transport corridors logistics systems.

The research methods are statistical analysis, analogies and comparisons.

It is suggested to apply the statistical toolkit in order to reveal weak links in the logistic systems of the countries participating in the certain international transport corridor. The logistics system links that could be considered as the basis for the benchmarking activities development and implementation, along with the links that have to be improved through the implementation of investment projects or other policy tools are revealed.

Forecast assumption with regard to the research objects is to elaborate the integral indicator for the assessment of the level of logistics systems development of the countries participating in the international transport corridors.

Effectiveness of advertising: how its evaluation

In the article the approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of advertising that exists today in the practice of advertising management. Formulated that the assessment of the effectiveness of promotional activities in the restaurant business is impossible without a study of the following issues: what should be understood by the performance that is measured at the end of (or during) campaign; which means it is measured; what time measure (time controls).

Traced two basic approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of advertising that exists today in the practice of advertising management. The peculiarities of evaluating the economic efficiency of communication and advertising, as well as methods for determining these components effectiveness of promotional activities. The approach to evaluating the effectiveness of advertising in the restaurant business from the perspective of short-term, medium-term and long-term effect of advertising.

It is proved that in evaluating the effectiveness of advertising restaurant business enterprises must adopt an integrated approach, to evaluate the effectiveness of communication and advertising and economic position of the short-term, medium-term and long-term effect of advertising. Revealed that to advertisers and advertising organizer at determining effectiveness of advertising should be to the comparison of results and goals. Depending on what the goal set before advertising - specific or general might assess the degree of achievement. The indicator can be economic, non-economic or mixed.

In the field of restaurant business advertising is effective even when it is the result not of an economic nature (branding). Calling echo in memory, attention, imagination, feelings, it does not result in a significant economic results. But the result of this action is discovered during additional promotions with specific economic goal.

Evaluation of automobile transport enterprises in partnerships

The article examines the processes of determining the standard values of performance indicators road transport enterprises in the aspects of the formation and operation of partnerships.

Object of study – business indicators for assessing road.

Objective – definition normative values of indicators characterizing conditions of partnership requests and partners.

Research methods – methods of economic analysis, analysis method hierarchy.

A necessary condition for a given level of service quality of maintenance and repair automotive vehicles is to determine the requests of partners and providing support services for a specified level of maintenance and repair automotive vehicles. Compliance with the qualitative characteristics of services for maintenance and repair automotive vehicles by comparing actual performance indicators defined by their normative values.

Determining standard values of performance indicators is carried out by analyzing statistical information on industry standards existing search and analysis of the literature.

The successful operation of partnerships, management should define basic road transport enterprises expectations and preferences partners and carry out systematic optimization of processes occurring in the enterprise. Normative values of a group of "clients" are determined separately for each partnership requests from representatives of companies-carriers in each of the partnerships.

Defining normative values of complex parameters is performed comparing actual performance with road transport enterprises of normative values, taking into account the weights of indicators and sets of indicators.

An important aspect of ensuring that services of maintenance and repair automotive vehicles partnership conditions and needs of consumers is to monitor that provides continuous monitoring of service delivery and maintenance of repair automotive vehicles certain criteria. Based on the results of monitoring carried out conformity assessment services stated requirements.

To carry out the monitoring process, a system of indicators, based on which a third party tracking service quality characteristics of maintenance and repair automotive vehicles. Also important to identify existing weaknesses to eliminate enabled to increase the service quality of maintenance and repair automotive vehicles in the future. To monitor the quality of service information used by employees road transport enterprises, consumer complaints service of maintenance and repair automotive vehicles more.

In case the actual value of complex indicators for all groups are equal and / or exceed regulations - recommended forming partnerships road transport enterprises, otherwise – base management company is given time to bring rates in line with regulations.

The results of the article can be used in practice to determine normative values and weighting coefficients of indicators to measure road transport enterprises.

Projected assumptions about the object of study – using the results of the article when determining normative values and weighting coefficients of performance indicators entities in various industrial branches.

The analysis of the sharing economy functional peculiarity and development based on Uber business model

The study is focused on the sharing economy functional peculiarity and development analysis based on Uber business model.

The object of the study – Uber business-model of the sharing economy.

The purpose of the study – to investigate market forces drive of the sharing economy and functional specificity the sharing economy firms based on Uber business-model.

The method of the study – methods of synthesis and analogy, abstraction, induction and deduction and systematic approach.

Functional peculiarity and development of the sharing economy has been thoroughly studied. It is shown that the rise of the sharing economy is driven and enabled by the societal, economic and technology drivers. The authors have determined that the sharing economy term has several synonyms in foreign sources. Moreover, term synonyms have been highlighted for their systematization and better information perception. The sharing economy has been determined as a hybrid economy, which contains plenty forms of exchange and it produces added value. Goods and services of the sharing economy are outlined. Furthermore, key sectors of the sharing economy have been established. The value of this concept has been found not only in income but also in getting the environmental and social impact. The economy depends on intangible and tangible foundation and promotes efficient and productive exploitation of resources. In addition, Uber business-model is reported for a better understanding of the sharing economy functional peculiarity. Also, the sharing business-models competitive advantages of the traditional companies has been established. The perspective of rapid achieving sustainable development as a result of adaptation of the sharing economy business-model in other industries is discussed.

Anticipated forecasts about a development of this study object – society receives substantial benefits as a result of the sharing economic growth. New markets will be created which contain old forms doing business and the sharing economy business-model. The sharing economy has dealt with the problem of asymmetric information and adoption of traditional regulatory approaches to the specifics of the key economic sectors of the sharing economy: hospitality, taxicab and lending.

Organization and improvement of accounting for wage settlements in the enterprise

The article considers the calculation of payroll calculations for LLC «ELIZIUM PLAST». It is proposed to apply a piece-bonus system of labor remuneration for production personnel in order to increase the productivity and profitability of the enterprise.

The purpose of the work is to develop proposals for improving the accounting of payments for labor at the enterprise.

In the study for LLC «ELIZIUM PLAST», a piece-premium labor payment was used for production personnel in order to increase labor productivity and more efficient use of production capacities. The introduction of a piece-premium form of labor remuneration for production personnel made it possible to combine the quantitative indicators of the work of a particular worker with the ability to accurately account for the amount of work done by him, enabling workers at a particular production site to further increase output.

The application of the proposed system of labor remuneration ensures that the rates of growth of labor productivity exceed the growth rates of its payment. The volume of products produced by LLC «ELIZIUM PLAST» increased by 90,82 %, and the output per employee by 102,38 % while the average salary of the employee increased by 71,2 %. The share of wages in the cost of production decreased by 10,3 %, that is, the cost of production decreased, accordingly, the profitability will increase.

Specialties of expert’s method using for estimation foreign partner’s potential in the tourism sphere

The article offers a comprehensive approach to improve methods of determining the degree of expert competence for improvement the expertise’s objectivity in the tourism industry.

The object of study – determining criteria of foreign partners’ quantitative potential assessment in the tourism sector.

The purpose of study – to develop organizational and methodical guidelines for formation competent expert group to evaluate the foreign partner's potential in tourism industry.

The research methods – methods of empirical research, mathematical and statistical methods, the method of formalization, analysis and synthesis methods.

Analysis and comparison of a large number of works relating to the development of expert techniques and their improvement has shown that to meet the challenges in the tourism using formalized approaches to assess potential foreign business partners is not sufficient. To determine the quantitative assessment criteria for foreign partner's potential in tourism provided expert’s evaluation stages; it is proposed the methodical apparatus in the formation process a competent experts’ team, which allows to conduct a comprehensive assessment of expert competence based on qualifications of the expert and the degree of their argumentation.

The results of the article can be used for the objective quality assessment, obtaining scientifically sound results, determining necessary number of experts and assess their competence.

Inflation in the motor transport sector of the Kiev region: ways to overcome

The article deals with the phenomenon of inflation in the motor transport sector in the Kyiv region, analyzes the changes in the consumer price index for 2010–2016, identifies certain reasons for the emergence of inflationary processes, suggests ways to overcome inflation. Combating uncontrolled inflation is one of the main problems of state regulation, based on its accounting, socio-economic, financial and banking policies are based. In order to contain inflation and reduce its negative consequences, the government is implementing an anti-inflationary policy. Anti-inflationary policy is a set of corresponding measures of state regulation of the economy aimed at combating inflation.

The impact of infrastructure on the efficiency of automobilization

On the basis of data on the level of motorization and the world's infrastructure the problems of development of road transport in Ukraine were identified. The conclusion indicates that the infrastructure of road transport does not correspond to the requirements of the vehicle fleet in Ukraine and 5.53 times lower than in developed countries. It is shown that the growth of vehicle fleet and does not development   infrastructure could be disastrous consequences. After studying the vehicle fleet ratio to the infrastructure in Ukraine, it was concluded that it is first necessary to develop the infrastructure, and then to develop the vehicle fleet.

Otherwise, if all the factors of our reality and fact that we are today on the first places in the world in the number of road accidents and the number of deaths on the roads  take into account, there are all prerequisites  destroy the Ukrainian nation without any war for a short time.
